Have fitted new hinges and the positioning of the door is just nice in relation to the opening. My problem lies with the door being very hard to close. Initially it was the strap retaining bracket on the car, was fouling on the heads of the strap retaining block screws in the door causing the door to spring before meeting the seal. So i removed the strap all togeather to take it out of the equation. I now find that he door still is hard to close. Next step was remove the rubber seal. Now it shuts beautifully.
Now for the question. I am about to purchase new rubber as the existing has been cut too short by the PO. Are there only one type of door seal or car you get smaller section that wont force the bottom of the door to potrude?
Alternatively is there a trick for squashing or softening the rubber.
regards,
Brian

It will get a little better in a week or so, as the rubber starts to take a shape. I had the same dramas.

I have considered punching a hole or two to allow air to escape from the internal cavity...but it's not that bad now that it has had a month or so to find its self as a door rubber.
