 Post subject: water flow

hey all got a really dumb question, which way does water flow in the readiator does it flow up the radiator or down it ????? i got told from tafe it flows up it the radiator is this true ??????

Top to bottom in all cars.
It goes with natural convection - engine makes water hot, water goes up, radiator makes water cold, water goes down.
Thats why vintage car rads are so tall.

Um, not so fast....
Most (or many) newer cars us crossflow raditors, the tanks are on the sides. They rely on the pump more for circulation.
There is a slight mounting angle there usually but it's hardly `top to bottom.' :wink:

Fair enough, they are cross flow, but still the top hose goes to the top and the bottom hose comes from lower on the other side.
