With those numbers and off the top of my head I'd say between 59 and 78 somewhere.

Haze Blue is listed only for 1964.

YMA2S1 is Morris 850

Around 60,188 of this model were made. Production ceased in early 1965.

As production was 60,000 over about 4 years, and average of around 15,000 per year, or 1,200 per month gives a rough idea for dating.

It would therefore be fair to suggest that chassis 59,317 was made very late in 1964 or early 1965 (paint colours probably didn't change until early in the year).

So, I'd say probably December 1964 to January 1965.

Check dates on window glass, windscreen wiper motor and boot lid lock - assuming these are original - but remember there is often a gap of up to 3 months between these dates and the date of manufacture.

Anyone else got a more accurate idea?

Cheers,
Watto.

Well it's an 8Y so I'd say '64.

Does it have a full front valance?

Speak with sports850, he has a register of 850, your numbers should be able to place it somewhere amongst some known examples.

I'll tell you for half of the aforementioned slab ....

Bugger it , I'll tell you anyway , it's late 1964 but was most likely sold either December 1964 or January 1965 so could be called either really . All the accesories would be most likely stamped 10/64 , at the peak of 850 sales they seamed to be running 4 to 6 weeks from component stamping , not sure about that late in 850 production though .
