It's puffing fumes something chronic.

I am now on an urgent lookout for an engine - either 1275 or 1100 - as this car is my daily driver.

Couldn't have happened on a worse day

Please see my 'wanted' ad.

Kirsten

Dtrain - I'm not sure as of yet...it only happened a few hours ago

Ziegech - that'd be perfect except you're in melbourne :P

I'll keep posting as I find out what's happening.

If I can't get an engine then I'll be off the road for a few weeks while dad rebuilds this engine

I hear Matt the MiniMan has a running smallbore sitting on the floor of his workshop not doing much... (with a Twinkie head on it!)

Sorry Kirsten just got your two messages.

Yeah i thought that the distance might be a problem, i dont have access to freight but if someone does the engine hasnt been selling so the offer is there.

Good luck with a speedy repair.

If I can get one of my 850's or 998's going would you take it? (I would want it back eventually though)
What sort of gearbox and uni joints do you have?

I could probably have one going in a few days for you (depending on the gb and uni joints)...

Kirsten,,, i have what i believe to be a good engine here (no you can`t have the twin cam) but there is a small bore engine here that is in really good nick

let me know if you`re keen & we can work out a price & i may even be able to sort some time to fit it for you

only cause you`re stuck tho,,, if you had another car at your beck-&-call then you can wait :-) but seeing as you`re stuck,,, well,,, it`s here,,, it`s good & it won`t cost an arm & a leg,,, it is, (after all),,, just a small bore :-) but it will serve you well

Thanks everyone, I'll speak to the old man today and see what he wants to do. He said if I can't find an engine then he's just going to rebuild the one i've got (it's a trooper).

At the moment the rebuilding option is looking to be the one...if I upgrade I'd need to get discs and all that jazz so sticking with my 998 would be the cheapest.

I'll keep posted about what's happening.

Thanks again for your offers and support :)
