Hey all,

Please excuse me if this is a dumb question, but i have an engine stand with 4 attachment points and i was wondering what i should place them to. I have taken off the flywheel and clutch etc but left on that housing, do i need to take that off as well?

Cheers

That REALLY is a dumb question considering YOU started the thread I was referring to

Definately aggree 850man
I have been doing it this way for 30 years and have never broken one.
I will say however that I always ensure that the bolts are as long as possible and tightened properly.

No hard feelings, and I hope vice versa. I had a bad week at work last week, and probably wasn;t in the mood to suffer fools gladly as they say. Sorry if I treated you too "tersely"

Glad you got it sorted.

A milk crate is a better engine stand than a bench.

My question is when are they simply going to cut to the chase and put a Safe Working Load (SWL) Limit on these milk crates. They've been used for years for everything in workshops, and most common of all is to use them as stands. But with no SWL that makes them illegal in the workplace. Something my employer doesn't mind enforcing.... I'm still going to use them however....

They won't put a SWL on milk crates, simply because it's illegal for anybody to have them in their possession but the milkos.
Read the not-so-fine print on the side..
