Hi all

I am going to have a look at a mini that is for sale this evening. It is supposed to be a genuine cooper. Can anybody tell me what engine and body numbers or prefixes i should be looking for.

Thanks all

Have a read through this link, but also try the search function. There's heaps of threads and it's been answered a thousand times. I'd rather you read all the information than have me leave something out.

cheers

Maybe also say what area of Adelaide you're heading to (not specifics) and ask if someone here that knows what to look for can go with you to check it out . Just becausse the numbers on a removable plate say what they are meant to doesn't mean it is a genuine car and many have been caught out like that . There are a lot of things to look for that are hard to explain but can be easily looked at by someone who knows what they are looking at .

What condition is it in , restored , average or to be restored ?
