Dynamat is good stuff. The Flashtack stuff mentioned is okay for small fill in areas,
but you need a heatgun and a steamroller to make the stuff stick.
:D

Bah, clean panel, sticks like shirt to a blanket.
Seriously, it worked really well in my van, and its still stuck after 3 years.

When I bought dynamat for my Alfa I thought it was a bit expensive. I ran out with only a little to go. I went to the local JB Hifi and they had a similar product and it was 3 times the cost.

dynamat extreme mate.

buy the bulk pack this is a van did my full roof & bay & doors.

next will be floor. it really works makes your car sound solid & get the rover cooper stuff to pop in the firewall also. so easy to stick on but make sure you get a roller & buy it of ebay.

cheap as chips.

why would you want to add all that extra weight??, its bad enough having carpet!!! also the last thing you want to do is reduce engine noise in the cabin?? if it was legal, id have no dash, and leave the rotory dip cover off!! Who needs a sterio when you have a 7000rpm A series symphony in front of you?? :P

I do like the sound of the A series BUT

1. I drive a van and it has the accoustic properties of a can of beans.
2. I have no headliner in the back and when you slam the door you can hear the noise reverberating from the outside let alone when my girlfriend gets out and slams the door.
3. If I needed to cut the weight drastically in my mini I would just change the driver.
4. It looks so shiny and fun!! You could go 80's future apocolypse and just run this as your carpet and headliner :):)

a van is like a drum.. it makes it much better.

it's not that much more heavy.

i'm not racing the car.

but i still like it to sound nice & loud on the out side

Hey,

Check out second skin audio, from everything that I've read it seems to perform better than dynamat. Its quite expensive but if you're after the best I think its worth a look. They don't have a store in Australia but if you email them they'll be happy to work something out.

Ill put in a vote for dynamat as well. My dads been doing car stereos for about 20yrs and thats what he uses in all his installs. He seems to get quite a lot in so if anyones after some give us a yell.

dynamat update

I have ordered from ebay and got the bulk pack for 209 plus 25 postage delivered to my door. Its not to bad, sells for 299 retail so pretty happy with that. If you can get this cheaper than this, have got this cheaper than this, have a mate, bro, chap or cousin that can get it cheaper for me please DON'T tell me as I have already paid :) :)

It should be awaiting my arrival at home tonight. I might make some dynamat pants and show you photo's of it later.
