Hi Guys,
does this look like a Mini 850 floor Mat or Morris 1100 Mat?

It is not Morris 1100 no matter what he claims on ebay.

Get him to show more photo's if you can , it's missing the floor starter hole and the light dipper switch hole . Don't think the 850 had the embossed heel area either but could be wrong . It does look similar to the mats I got from the Mini King that were from a left hand drive UK mini 850 of some form , it has a super short pile carpet on the top when it's in a left hand drive car but a reasonably original looking rubber backing with the holes mostly in the right place when it's fitted upside down to a right hand drive mini . It didn't have the floor start button or the dipper switch hole either ....

Here's a photo of an original floor mat in an 850, shows the embossed heal pad, Yes?

Yep , I'll agree with that . My front mat was reduced to half a dozen bits and the drivers foot area was a missing piece so wasn't sure . Seen one without that I thought could have been a repro but couldn't prove it one way or another .

Thanks for your input Ian,
I guess I will see when it gets here,
For the money I thought it was worth the risk,
He did say it was 40 year old new old stock, but on the other hand said it was from a morris 1100 so we'll see!
Either way it won't break the bank :)
Dave

It can't be for a Morris 1100 for two good reasons...

Reason 1) If it was for a Morris 1100 I would have outbid you.

Reason 2) The gearstick hole is in the wrong spot. He said that the 1100 auto had the hole in a different spot to the manual but he is wrong. It is in the same spot and the cable runs under the floor.

Thanks for your input too Morris100,
Lets hope it is a mini one.
If I thought it was for 1100 I would have not bid so you would have had it for the $80....

It's for an 850 cause it's got a bump for the push button floor start

It could be for a Mini autoMatic, they used the 850 shifter hole for the cable, and no floor starter.

Wombat, all Oz (& UK Mk1 & II) Minis have the starter bump in the floor...
