From whats been said, the anchor points seem factory done. Here's a pic of the top door pillar:

Yep , that's the factory job so you won't need to get the belts engineered unless you change the front belts to retractables . Standard lap sash are perfectly legal in there .

Not quite -- my K has retractables fitted to the factory mount and I sailed through the inspection. The key is that the webbing must be unimpeded off the spool up to the top pivot. If you were to fit inertia reels on the factory mount without changing anything, the door pocket would foul on the webbing and that's where the problem lies.

In my case, the door pockets have been shortened so the reels are completely unimpeded. Once I pointed that out to the inspector, they were quite happy. Likewise if the entire pocket was removed, inertia reel fitment is perfectly OK.

At least, that's been my experience in Victoria.

Ooh , this will reignite an old argument ... The original mounts are made strong enough for fixed seatbelts , not retraclibles which make the top mounts act as a pulley and not a rigid mount .

I'm leaving it alone after making that comment though ...

I'm sure new retractables would be safer than 40 year old fixed belts as well , I'm mainly talking about the blue slipper and engineer this guy is dealing with who are being difficult (or just not mini friendly) and advising of possible problems from them if he fits retractables or what to say if they dispute the fixed belts as being standard fitment .
