Yep that's a side benefit. Along with a few other `immobilizers'... 8)

BTW I use a toggle switch as it's cooler than a push-pull.

You could go for one of those covered ones where you have to flick the cover up to flick the switch and send the missiles off to kill the baddies.....that's Mini, Dr Mini, 007!

One of those switches with the word IGNITE in big letters under it.

Yeah yeah.

They're 12 bucks

On another note..... what if you had the ignition rigged so that when the starter motor is powered, there is no power going to the coil. It should kick over fine once you release the key, yes? Image

No... you need it to spin, as the flywheel on any Mini is pretty light (unless it's a !*^#&$ Verto one..)

putting one to the fuel pump is a good idea then hide the swicth. then if it gets nicked they won't be able to take it a 150 mile joy ride like what happen to mine

idlike to wire the fuel pump and the ignition to a switch,so no spark and no fuel,so if they did happen to give the dizzy power it wouldnt go very far :D

We fitted a kill switch to a car and didn't have to fit a switch. The car had a sliding ashtray and when it was pushed right in the ignition was earthed out. Had a few people push it in while driving, but it was effective, quick to use and not obvious.

Magnetic Reed Switch.
Cost bugger all and a very good type of switch as you can hide it way better. Eg... in the hoodlining would be a good place to have it

Just got hold of a D4R83 for my Mini, I know which wire goes were for the coil but this dizzy has a condenser attached to it. Do you need to use the condenser and if so how do I hook it up? (has white with black trace wire)
Cheers Pete
