Whereas I was looking at things like the original looking gauge housing and wiring, or the lack of flare extensions, or no oil cooler support.

The Mk1 S has the single white plastic speedo housing under the black binacle.
A Mk1 has no flares from the factory.
Not all Mk1s have the oil cooler in that spot, but on that car it has the lip folded down. But once you remove the oil cooler the mounts are only held by the bottom bolt and they can fold out of the way. (The may still be there but not in view)

it is a mini and that is all anyone can say for sure, what type of mini noy anyone on here can say for sure with 100% positive guarantee from the photos and even if they had there hands on the car

What its worth is what someone is prepared to pay for it, to me its worth very little as a incomplete mini to someone else it may be worth a few thousand dollars but you have to find the rigjht buyer

Are you seriously wanting to sell it or are you just wanting a value on it in case you had to sell it ?

I think that Wayne King (snigger) could be on the right track, but Feralsprint has the correct answer.

In the underbonnet photo I can see quite a few little S things that are not right for a Deluxe.

Looks like could be an S, but although yes it's in the right place for an S, wasn't the Mk1 S voltage regulator mounted on its side?
(can't remember for sure now, we sold ours in 1983...)

Just clean off the rad cowl panel & tell us the numbers on there

& then clean off the area on the baulk head/fire wall/dash panel behind the master cyls & probably under the body plate there should be some numbers stamped in there too

let us know all that & i could make a better "Guess" :-)

How about we just say what we'd honestly pay for it? - if it were for sale?

If I was just going off the picture the absolute max I would hand over is $1000.00 but only after it was washed.

I find it hard to believe that anyone here would hand over $5000.00. Especially seeing on other Ausmini posts you'll admit the market is poor. Have a look around - that almost finished 4EFTE 'Barbie' sold for only a grand or two more.

Didn't you buy this one about a year ago from behind Sydney?

Without a whole pile of photos, you won't be able to make much more than a guess from the pics that are up. There's a pile of little pieces to check out beyond the numbers on the cowl and bulkhead. Looks pretty good however...

The Bottom line Guys is that carter has asked what we think his Cooper S is worth.
Not if it is a cooper S or not
Carter, the best answer to your question is, It's worth what someone is prepared to pay!
To give yourself an idea add up the value of the various parts you have eg. Discs, Tank, S wheels, body shell with plate and any other parts of value, It is worth at least that much.
Dave

ps, note the steel fuel line held in the bracket with the hydro line on the passengers side.
only cars with electric fuel pumps had it finishing up high in that bracket. No deluxes with electric pumps!

The funny thing is we have already established that it was a Cooper S a long time ago, back when they first got the car.

What is it worth? Frankly I don't know. It is worth more than a Deluxe in the same condition. :D

Hi,
Put it on ebay with a large volume audience, a rolling genuine Cooper S shell with tank, discs and steel wheels will get $5000.00 everyday of the week. It is one of the better shells I've seen for a while. You don't get much for $5000.00 these days, market up or down.

Morris your are correct

Im his older brother, yes it is a Cooper s it is a 67 model. It has the numbers, the tabs in the boot, the tank bracket etc. Somebody has how you can see put later model master cylinders etc into it, but yes it is a genuine S.

He was considering selling it, he wasnt certain, just wanting to find what he would get if....

yes i think the same ... chuck on ebay to see what somebody is willing to pay.
