i have found the super cheep batteries, the cheep white ones to be great, i use them in my cars and to power our batch (150watt inverter), the seem to cope well with being run flat repetedly, even in my 186 powered jeep.

They said no problem with picking up the battery from the exide depot (any state). Just paid by Credit card ad hey presto, they phone the order through and you pickup. Brand new (full warrenty) not second hand.

I'll go with the Doc, i have just brought 2 Exide 550cca from big W, ( $165 each) 3 year warranty ,one for my " S " the other for my Rodeo ute ( turbo diesel) that way i can rotate the 2 between both cars if need be. Time will tell if they are any good.

What I did, two hours after paying over the phone, they rang the order through and I went to the Exide depot in Sydney (55 Bryant Street,
Padstow NSW), said I was to pickup a battery for "Peter & Rick's Auto Workshop S.A" and they got one straight off the shelf and gave to me with paperwork, then I drove off. NO PROBLEM AT ALL.

Recommend to everyone. 550 cca as well. (BATTERY X56D)
But Exide depot do not sell to the public direct, that's why you need to go through the Distributor (Peter & Rick's Auto Workshop) first!

Yeah Exides are the go Mick. I've always used them as replacements in all my cars. The only "dud" was an original fitment in a new car that dropped a cell at age 3. I usually get 5 years minimum and Oscar keeps his batteries for 9 - 11 years no probs - I kid you not!! There's a lot to be said about keeping a battery away from the extreme temperatures of an engine bay.....
I run a 460CCA in Oscar and from memory paid around 90 bucks for his current one a few years ago. Unfortunately the place for all my battery purchases over the years has now closed

Sorry to hijack the thread about batteries, but I went to Supercheap to get some painting stuff (filler primer, masking tape etc) and got 25% off. Plus the girl on the counter was hot, and not in a slutty way. What's not to like?

i go with exides all the time, they are really good battery and also because we sell them at work , so when warrenty expiry comes round guess whos swaps there battery
