Bought a smiths tacho (new).
Getting a new MK2 harness.
These are the wiring instructions for the tacho:
"Green- connect to switched ignition power source (+ve) via 3A fuse. - use you switched fuse in your fusebox (only on when the ignition key is on)
Black- connect to ground (-ve)
Red/white- connect to dash lamp power - wire into one of the dash lamps behind your speedo or gauges.
brown/slate- used (hour meter only) - not required so ignore this wire. maybe insulate with tape and tie it up. Signal input alternatives
the circuit diagram showsall alternatives,only one is needed.
white/black- connect tacho output of electronic ignition - Insulate with tape and tie it away.
red/blue- connect to negative side of ignition coil (distributor side) - use this one as it says, on the -ve post on your coil
The wires mentioned above will need to be run to the respective parts of the car.
