Nice work Hallsey.

Is the airbox readily ideantiafiable as a festiva one? like does it have FORD printed on it anywhere? cant tell from the pics. Reason I ask is my engineer wanted me to run the factory airbox. He did however mention that he was not familiar with the factory airbox from an EP82 looked like. SO if it isn't obviously not Toyota nobody is likely to argue. Yours is going to look 'factory' enough I'd say.

G,day MM
No ford markings at all , frank said the same to me,but he strongly hinted (wink wink) that if it looked factory he would'nt know the difference

Hallsey,

I'm at the stage of stuffing the engine in the engine bay, with reference to this photo of yours... did you have to cut the subframe part out near the rack to fit the CV socket on the diff in?

Image

Just wasn't sure if it were the angle i had the engine slung...

Also, any chance you wanna get rid of that subframe jig when ya done? :D
Or better still just weld another 1!!

Cheers.

Hi Amos
Na did'nt have to cut that out but it is a tight fit and difficult
to get the angle especially doing it on your own, as for the stand not
sure what i'm doing with it yet

Hey Hallsey,

Nice radiator. Is there some formula you used to come up with the capacity? Or was it just as big as will fit? Can you tell me the dimensions? Was it exxy?

It looks like there is no ridge on the inlet and outlets. You might want to double clamp the hoses so they don't blow off.

Yeah seems very quiet at the moment. Not much happening in my shed at the moment.

G,day clutch monkey, na leave the bling i reckon.
MM only roughly went on capacity, bout the same size as a commodore
, a bit excey, $950 for core, tanks, fittings, cowl, fan and catch tank,
should work a treat.

Come on Trickey where's an update on the cat
Cheers Hallsey

might be a silly question but why is the rear part of the rad covered except for the thermo fan part.. surely the air passing through will get stopped causing heat to build?

The blank is there so when the fan turns on, it draws air directly through the radiator rather than sucking from the edges of the fan at the rear of the radiator (air will always travel in the path of least resistance - which is not through the radiator). Normally, air flow would be reasonably sufficient through the radiator and fan (when the fan is not on) and Hallsey would have a thermoswitch which turns on the fan when the coolant gets to a certain temperature. Look at any OEM radiator setup and you will see that the fan will have a (plastic) shroud around it.
