It really depends on what you have as to what sort of detail it should have on the grille . There must have been at least three different versions of grille/painting that I can recall, not counting with driving lights as well.

you can do whatever you like with the frill. The previous owner did this to mine and the bottom is what ill be doing to it when its finished.

Correct, all the standard ones in John's are black with the raised horisontal ribs polished.
