Just did some minor repairs on clutch arm last week, was awaiting some dollars to replace whole clutch end of the motor.

But i was driving along today, and CRRRRRRRRACK. Very loud crack and the motor stopped dead. Clutch was half to the floor and when i finally got it in gear it wasnt happy. Limped all the way home and needless to say i want to kick the farkn thing.

Have to go see Ken when payday comes around, new casing, new plunger, new clutch arm, thrust bearing, new clutch kit.

If anybody can supply me with that lot cheaply, then ill pick it up next week, otherwise Ken you got some dollars coming your way.

What repairs on the clutch arm did you do?

there was too much play in the housing where the plunger goes through, the plunger also had excessive wear on it. Ive now snapped the arm (again) but this time fubar it completely.

I can also hear the bearing squeeling away all the time now so ive probably gone and bent the bearing inside too now, and theres no adjusting an arm with no end on it.

I was hoping it would hold out a few more days (payday), and then fix the whole thing, but nope, not going anywhere now.

Sounds like the clutch is overthrowing to me. Make sure you have the correct length push rod in the arm or the clutch will overthrow, ruin the thrust bearing and break the end of the clutch arm. Dont use a new clutch arm, there weak & break, find a good S/H arm and use the correct lenth rod. Buy a new thrust bearing & carrier as well.

You didn't do those large nuts on the plunger up all the way to the end of their thread did you??

the clutch was overthrowing, because the plunger had severe wear in it where the ball sat in it, wore all the way into the side. I had the adjuster bolt pretty much all the way out.
