You've got some great photos there.

I'll post mine when I get a chance to load them up to photobucket.

I was very impressed with Ian Stewart's historic Nb mini (number 14). He was mixing it up with some serious sports sedans running his 5 port mini engine and street tyres.

The yellow mini looked like it had a flat tyre or dropped suspension on the previous lap and I was waiting for it to come around to have a better look. Then a couple of corners before it got to us, it tripped over and had a bit of a roll. I saw it afterwards on a trailer and it didn't look too bad, mainly damage to the flares and other plastic bits.

I saw the car on the dogleg 'step out' towards the left just before this happened - I think he had a puncture on the left rear and this caused the roll over.

Yeh, that's what I saw too. Went wide and was looking quite awkward sitting low on the left rear. I think I captured the last bit of the roll on video - haven't had time to check.
I'm with Austin850 - Ian Stewarts NB was my favourite - best sounding and was showing up a fair few of the highly modified sport sedans. Borg looked pretty unbeatable though.

I should have been standing right where the mini rolled but I got chatting to someone and didnt move to the spot. I just caught the end of it.

Anyways guys, good to see the mini scene on the up and up.

I'm doing photography full time now and I am starting to do studio and action shoots with cars.

Just putting the finishing touches to a gadget that will allow me to take pix like this.

Anyone interested?

You would be very surpised how this effect is acheived. For a change it does have alot to do with photography skills and only a little to do with photoshop.

I'm hanging for the bits to arrive.

Oran Park MRA Round two for 2009.
2nd May 2009
JENNINGS MACHINERY GLASS round two was once again run in perfect weather with twenty Mini’s competing.

Qualifying for the fist time this year saw the front row of the grid with only one hi brid. Paul Attard in his crossflow secured pole with Tim Tritton’s Toyota powered Mini sharing the front row. Chris Adlam in his iron head Mini was third with Bob Bell’s Honda powered Mini fourth. Fifth place John Mallam in his Crossflow and Charlie Borg’s Honda Mini in an unusual spot of sixth place due to an oil leak . Seventh and eighth saw the iron heads of Allan Ross and David Clark Ninth was Robert Sharp’s iron head and Peter Croker in his crossflow Tenth. Eleventh was David (scar face) Curry and Ian Stewart’s Appendix “J” car twelfth. Thirteenth was an unusal position for Warwick Agustin’s Toyota Mini but a flat tyre put paid to a quick time with Graham Bergan’s Honda Mini fourteenth. Fifteenth was Brian Walden in the turbo charged Mini and Darryl Blanch in his Honda Mini. Seventeenth Steve Buggato eighteenth Paul Deller nineteenth John Bell and twentieth Warren Bell.

Race One was a six lap screamer with Borg taking up his usual spot of leading the race but not till lap four followed by Attard, Tritton and Adlam. Fifth place was Bob Bell and sixth place Mallam who maintained that place for the entire race. Seventh was closely fought by Ross & Agustin with Augustin winning out. Ninth was Sharp who never changed places the entire race. Clark and Stewart finished tenth and eleventh. Curry twelfth, Bergan thirteenth. A hotly three way battle the entire race for fourteenth saw Walden finish in front of Crocker and Blanch. Seventeenth was deller and A DNF to Warren Bell & Bugatto. John Bell failed to start the race due to a water pump failure.
Race two was another six lapper but after two laps was red flagged due to Blanch having a big roll over. The race was then reduced to a three lap screamer with Borg Attard and Bob Bell finishing one two & three. Adlam lost two places to finish fourth and Agustin fifth sixth looked like a Ross affair till the last lap when Clark claimed the spot putting Ross seventh. Eighth Stewart and Curry ninth. Walden recovering from a lawn mowing exercise at Suttons claimed tenth from Bergan eleventh Crocker twelfth followed by Bugatto for thirteenth. Sharp and Mallam failed to finish due to a lap two encounter between the both. Tritton also had a DNF with Warren Bell still having woes with his borrowed car and pulled out of the race on the start.

Race three was a ten lapper trophy race with the field down to thirteen cars. Borg Attard Bob Bell finished in their starting positions one two three again with Agustin taking fourth place from Adlam on lap one an kept the fourth position for the remaining laps Sixth place was Ross who lost the place to Clark on the second lap for three laps before regaining the position till race end. Stewart started and finished in eight spot Curry jumped from last place on the grid due to the car not starting in time to finish ninth tenth was Crocker Bergan eleventh and Mallam twelfth. Walden broke a drive shaft of the line to have a DNF. Tritton was also a DNF as he pulled out on the warm up lap.
