turns out molly head gasket is blown, water is leaking into cylinder #3 and maybe #1 as well. or maybe the it's more then i can afford and the head is cracked.

either way wont know if until the head is off.

so is anyone able to come round to mine and help take the head off on street, so i can have the head checked. and then maybe come back to help put it back on once i find out it is perfectly fine.

or can i take molly round to some-ones place and take the head off, and leave molly there while the head gets checked.

or shall i just admit defeat and take it to the mechanic? i'm just not learning anything from taking it to the mechanic... and more importantly, i can't really afford it.

help

It's not hard at all, just a basic socket set would do and borrow a torque wrench to tighten it back up.

Someone can post a scanned pick of the correct way to retorque the head.

okay gonna be doing it myself in the out on the street.

any tips to keep block from rusting or removing head studs? what size buts do i need? if you were removing a cylinder head in the street what would you be looking out for and doing?

also anyone know where i can get a cylinder head crack and pressure tested in wollongong? and would is be the better thing to do to have it shaved a bit?

When are you planning on doing this? I may be able to come help.

Martins engine recondition would be the best i think for getting the head done.

Let me know, so I can make plans.

No uni?

I'm free all day tomorrow, so I can come around. I have never done one before, but I'm sure it can't be too hard.

Tucker, do you want to come around as well?

I don't have any mobile credit, so I wont be able to respond to any messages, so pm on here if we are going ahead with this.

Ryan

well i first need the replacement studs and head gasket. and i'm unsure if i can just show up to a shop with the head and they'll give it a shave. but i hope i can.

so if we can do this all in one day it'd be cool. tucker do you reckon you'd be able to make the trip? with the parts and i'll pay you back?

can't do it tomorrow actually, seeing the doc.

i know mini king has all the parts for what you need. if you want i am free for the next two days so you's are more than welcome to do it at my house. i have all tools and ryan could give you a lift back home if you had to wait for head maching. i would come down but hardly have any cash as im unemployed and trying to built a engine on limited funds myself.
