Hello all, here with work for a month, one week to go. This is my first chance to look on ausmini since I got here. Only 1192 posts since I last logged and I only have a few minutes so no chance of seeing what everyone has been up to. I have a local wood carver making myself and sports 850 and mini model each for the collection. I reckon it will be the first time a mini has been carved from wood in the pacific, I could be wrong though! I bought over a model for the bloke to copy and he has done a pretty good job on the first one. I saw it the other day and he was just finishing the hub caps before polishing it. It took about half an hour to see if it could be done at all using the little bit of Solomon pidjin I have picked up. Finally the guy said he could do it but it would be hard to do the inside! Not sure what sort of detail he was thinking I wanted but I sorted that out and he got to work. I will post some pics of them when I get home. Well the queue for the computer is getting longer so I am off. I hope everyone is well, cheers.

I'd watch out for the kid with the school book; looks like he has taken to your watch.

Enjoy the warm weather mate!

Got to see our models today, its been two weeks since I put the order in and one only needs to be polished, the other is still taking shape. My mates will bring them home in two weeks so we will have to wait until then Ian. They are very good, probably 1/20 scale or so. Shape is very good but not so perfect that they don't look like they have been carved by a bloke who has never seen a mini. I think it will be a good unique addition to the collection. Sorry to anyone else that may have wanted one but it is just too difficult to get things ordered, made and shipped here. The cost will not be disclosed but lets say I didn't rip off a local and didn't bother haggling. I will post pics when they arrive and Ians has been posted. Thanks Ian for posting the pics. I have to go again now, leave Thursday arvo and look forward to getting back on here to read over 2000 posts! Cheers.
