I’ve been looking around for a round nose mini in reasonable condition for a while now…..and while I’ve seen lots (relatively) of ok looking cars for sale interstate (primarily in NSW) there seems to be very few here in Vic…..

I’ve been sifting through all the usual sites…ebay, carpoint/sales, trading post etc. as well as the car sections in various papers but without much luck…..I’ve found a few cars but they’ve generally been priced disproportionately high when considering their condition…particularly when compared to some of cars on offer interstate. For example

63 Morris Deluxe 7k+, features include sagging doors, shagged gearbox, smoky motor, barely functional brakes, perished or missing seals, badly fitted interior, tyres/seals, etc covered in overspray from the recent average looking paint job and as an added bonus rust holes that were missed when the paint was slapped on…

70 Morris (?) 1000 11k+, features include: 1300 engine on drum brakes (with dodgy spacers), shagged gearbox, multiple oil leaks, ageing respray with signs of rust, failed rear suspension , shagged cv’s, and no RWC……

Don’t get me wrong….I don’t expect showroom condition for $2.50, but in the 6 to 10k price range there just don’t seem to be anything worth the asking price here in VIC….

Am I looking in the wrong places or are there really that few OK, realistically priced round noses in the market here…?

(Sorry if the above sounds a bit like a whinge….it is)

My advice is join a club. Good cars often change hands without being advertised.

Mine went to a friend. He wanted it the first time he saw it about a year ago. I rang him last week to see if he was still interested. I washed it last night and he picked it up this morning. 8)

I 2nd that motion.......................Harleys rover is a good deal......it seems to go well and looks quite clean inside and out.
It did join us a few times on the VMCi runs/cruises last year (I was social person for the club) hence why i posted most of the events here, so I have seen it often enough thats it is a fair deal and It seems to be quite reliable (in other words i havn't seen it break down etc....) and yes it is a round nose.

Here it is..........

I’ve had a chat with Harley about the rover….it’s probably the only one I’ve seen advertised that I’ve not had a chance to look at yet…..the only other one would be http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/ROV ... ?State=VIC …apparently the owner is currently sorting out reg & rwc.....

This one in SA has already had a price drop and seems like a fair price.

I’ve been watching that one for a while….and it seems to be a perfect case in point…they all seem to be somewhere other than Vic....having said that any one in SA live near Littlehampton? Curiously it says it comes with a RWC which I don’t remember ever needing (or even existing) when I lived in SA……( in Meadows which is sort of near Littlehampton)…..ah the salad days
