I was talking to Steve about fuel bladders, this guy Paul at Liquid Containment makes a motor bike one called the LC Mini Flex Tank in 8,10 and 15 litre's , the 15 litre one would be perfect and empty it packs flat and weighs less than 500 grams, and if you knew what you were doing could be plumbed into the existing tank, you would need a custom boot board with a cradle, the tank comes with mounting points attached, easy peasy.

Dean (74Snail) you are the man. I went and saw deegle this morning and he has offered the use of his workshop at no cost. I will do all my own work.

He is also giving me a key to the yard so i can get access to my car when the shop is shut, the man is a legend. He knew Mick, everyone in town seems to know mick.

I met the one and only mini driver in town this morning, a nice purple morris van owned by a 17 yr old high school girl, her father had the work done in adelaide, so no luck on help there but a nice car anyway.

So now i need to source parts. CBC bearings are in town and i can source bearing given i have part number, BUT, if i have shred the inside of the housing which is going to be likely, im going to need a second hand clutch housing.

Matt TheMiniMan, going back to the bearing meeting the diaphram, i will take a photo of the bearing face and the diaphram face, you will be able to see that they do not meet centred, but slightly off centred.

So it looks like im stuck in this Broken town where the old people are snobby and the young people are dickheads, but there are some nice people in town. Reminds me alot of Sydney on a small scale.

SOOOO. If you get stuck in Broken Hill, Deebles is the man.

I need part numbers for a third motion shaft bearing for a rod change gearbox, slightly larger diamter than third motion shaft for other gearboxes. Also need a part number on the roller bearing on the end.

I,m glad to be of some use, little bit of left field thinking, couple of phone calls,Mick Baldwin was happy to have a chat, the Deebles sound like good people to deal with, now its just a matter of getting the part numbers and getting the parts to you ASAP, I might dig out my Mini King catalogue and have a look- its usually got the part No's.Ok had a look in the MiniKing catalogue and its pages 150-155 all the part No's are there, you might have to call John 02-4648.1233 he should be able to help you.

that is awesome!

dunno about awesome, but gets you out of trouble.... little bit of practice and the gears won't crunch - don't make a habit out of doing it

he's got 588km of basically open road, as long as it drives, it'll be fine.

Give him a ring Brett

...just make sure you leave plenty of distance between yourself and other cars, anticipate traffic well ahead and be prepared to just pull off to the side of the road at a moments notice  :D

Be careful with the outrigger bearing....
Years ago we often left the outer ring in the cover if it wasn't worn, as usual. Not a problem...THEN.
NOW, RHP have changed the bore of that ring (a while ago now) so that the old ones now don't fit on the new bearings.

Measure its bore (and the new one in box) with a vernier caliper, to be sure.....

Thanks for the tip.

Heres crossing fingers that the casing isnt all marred and fubar.

If i can ill try and replace the ring in the casing as well. I have a workshop at my disposal now.
