Hi there, i think i know the answers to this question but will ask anyway.

Is it possible to fit disk brake with standard 10' steel wheel and no wheel arches?

Yes, you need LS-offset Contessa's or a wheel with similar offset.. and then they'll only fit over Cooper S discs.

A standard steel wheel will fit over S disc brakes, LS narrow offset contessa hit the caliper, you need to attack the caliper with a angle grinders to get them to fit over them.

the old cooper (not S) disc's have the same off-set as a standard mini.

they can be made to work very well with the newer types of break linings.

I'm looking at the same sort of thing - perhaps using the Cooper S replica Alloy wheels from Minisport - I think 165 tyres might be the killer though
