That does look good for the price.

First thing is check whether it has disc brakes. Legally a Mini with a 1275 must have disc brakes.

Next check for rust. Check the boot floor under the spare wheel and in the battery box under the battery. Check under the front carpets.

Maybe find a Mini person to take a look at it, too.

Good luck!

If it doesnt have disc brakes would it still be worth getting and then buying discbrakes myself?

(Any tips for things to look out for are greatly appreciated)

Thanks

pretty much what Poeee said...

if it doesnt have discs, adding them can be costly (new sets sell for starting at 1500 bucks!)
Rust, some can be just cut and welded in new pieces or panels... again can be costly
engine sounds alright to me 1310, plenty of power there.

Get someone that knows minis to have a look at it.

You wont have problems finding someone that knows Mini's around here.

If it hasn't got discs... even spending $1500+ on Cooper S discs will only bring the car to $5500, and if the rest of it is good, the that is still a very good Mini for the price.

My sis thinks i'm a fruitloop for driving a car that smells and is noisy and has several things wrong with it. She has no taste

There are quite a few people around Adelaide on here who would help you out in exchange for a 6 pack :)

I would volunteer Tombo () but he is moving house at the moment

Additional to look under the front carpets and boot area also get a magnet in a hanky and go around the outside this will tell you where holes have been filled up with bog. See if the engine blows blue smoke hopefully the engine is cold when you go have a look at it.
also see if the wireing has been hacked around with

Did you Jess ?? I have had two of my sons go to school there as well. One is currently in year 11. The other graduated 12 in 1999. If we are taking about the same school. The one adjacent to the railway station.
