You get a fatter stronger spark which allows you to run a bigger plug gap, which means more efficient burning and more power.

You never have to adjust the points gap again, and you get a clean rev all the way through the rev band and up to 8000k if you so want to. Stock will get all floaty and inaccurate around 6k..

Mine has seen 7k and pulled all the way..will pull to 8...1100's ain't THAT bad..sure the crank cracks eventually but it does take a while..

Ask the doc, his old 1220 revved to 8500 regularly and lasted 20000miles...

Then it's time for a new motor

Just got hold of a D4R83 for my Mini, I know which wire goes were for the coil but this dizzy has a condenser attached to it. Do you need to use the condenser and if so how do I hook it up? (has white with black trace wire)
Cheers Pete

That condenser is only a radio suppressor. Chuck it, it's not needed and does SFA without points. 8)

I have just fitted a D4R85 to my mini but it misses when I accelerate now. Does anyone know what the problem would be? Thanks

Check your plug gaps- set to .035".
What coil are you using? Should be 1.5 ohm without a ballast resistor.
How are the rotor, cap & leads? Check 'em out..

I just leave the hose off mine- I'm running a Dellorto.
Try & suck on the hose- if diaphragm is broken go buy a new vacuum can from Nissan or wherever.
