Another one of those what happened to my first car threads, sold it in Valentine NSW which is real close to Belmont. It was white and I believe it had an 1100 motor, minilite type crusty mags and hydro suspension. Had to sell it because the hydro kept going pop, my job working in a Belmont Servo wouldn't pay the repair bills. Anyone know anything about what happened to the car?

I'm local to that area, when are we talking about? 1, 2, 20 years ago?

I know of a few cars that could have been it? :?

OOPs, should have read the title!

Will see what I can find out!

A rego would be good! Did it have a red interior?

It was 1988 or 1989, can't remember the colour of the interior but I do remember it had sheet steel plates tacked in at the corners in the floors! I don't know the rego number either, don't even have a photo of it. I bought it as a non runner from the other side of the lake, my Dad wasn't too happy when I asked if he could tow it home for me behind our Ford Laser.....

It's not my old car then. Mine was purchased in that area in 1990, but it was a tidy and almost rust-free Deluxe.

bnicho, when you bought it was the hydro down on one side? Thinking about it, it could have been 1990. I think the car was a 1967.

No, the hydro was fine on mine when I bought it. It was a 68, white with red trim and had a "Shoetrim Motors Morris" sticker on the rear window and a cheap temp gauge on the top dash rail. Rego AJR413. My grandfather did the deal, I never saw it until I owned it. :)

EDIT: See below update from MichaelB. I sold the car in 1991 to a girl from Manly. Probably not the same car that is the subject of this thread though.

I purchased Brett's mini from a street just of North Rocks Rd, North Parramatta, probably around 1993/94. It had no engine, although a modified 1100 was available seperately if required. It was a very good body which needed some TLC and I recently sold it to some one who lives at Wachope up on the north of NSW.

Doesn't sound like the car I had, would have thought the temp gauge would have rung a bell. Thanks for checking though. Was living on Christopher Ave at the time, wish I could remember more about it - memories are a little hazy from back then!

I'm on the west side of the lake, near Toronto. I bought a 65 deluxe in about 99 / 2000, it had plates welded in the floor, a blue interior, but it did still have it's original 998 engine, so that puts that one out too.

Probably need a few more clues!

Sounds you have owned every mini in the area at some point Graham! The plates looked like they were galvanized steel or something, I've been racking my brain to remember more about it but I got nothin'. Does the 998 engine # start with 10? I think that's what made me think it had an 1100 donk, I do remember it would smoke like a bugger if it had sat for a while - valve seals were gone.

Small world! I lived in Andrew Rd, just above Christopher Ave from 1982 till 1999. :)
