I bought a dremel-type thingy from Aldi. Doesn't have any immediate relation to my mini today, but i'm sure it will some day...

Practicing some electoplating (bright zinc) on the cover strip that goes around the starter motor. 'Cooking' at the moment.

spent half an hour unbolting the 1100 in scrapper and putting the HIF for the 1275 motor back together and on the manifold. Ready to drop the 1275 back in this weekend.

Put the new carpet in the matic, tidied up all the wiring, drove it halfway to pakenham, let it have a rest on someones naturestrip, put a new coil and leads and plugs on it, then put it on a trailer and sent it away to be fixed by someone who has the time. I also vacuumed the LS, put new tail light lenses on it and got chauffered around in it while I was sulking about my matic sitting on the side of the road.. All in all, great mini day! :D

but then you have the days when 2 or 3 of them won't go...... multiply sulking x 3 - it's not pretty

Fitted up the proper number plate bracket to the front of the Mini, also put in a leatherwood bootliner and adjusted rear suspension to 1 degree camber with 0 degree toe out.

Adjusted the air/fuel mixture and drain the coolant in the radiator, I'll see tomorrow how she runs.

Hot I would imagine, unless you top that coolant back up.

Wire wheeled the extractors and then spray painted with some nice silver 1500deg heat proof paint. Dropped the brake and clutch master cylinders into the brake shop so they can be returned to being nice and shiny again. :)
Procrastinated over rubbing back the spotty paint around the master cylinders in preparation to touch up the damage done by the spilled brake fluid. :(

So what is it?

I fixed the horn and the high beams. Both were just loose connections. The high beam i know what connection it was, but the horn, after about half an hour of trying to find it, I got frustrated, grabbed the wires, shook them in anger and then in frustration decided to try the horn one more time and to my surprise it worked.......BLOODY LUCAS!!!!
