Dead Standard- Worn out CLubbie Rod-Change....
not even a comp diff pin....

I just dont dumpt it or thrash the arse out of it...
I've also got two spare boxes .. but this one has seen daily driving, track work, freeway and dyno time... crunches into second, but it did that before the turbo came along !

Made them good back then, they did....

Check out http://www.freewebs.com/kyoda/ourminis.htm (scroll down a bit until you get to the Cooper S), for all the specs and setup for the turbo on our Mini.

Cheers

Its official.. the Horsepower wars are now on... Small Block Honor to uphold here...
New turbo is an IHI RHF-5 (VJ26) - a fair bit larger on the compressor size than my dinky RHB-4 and it has a ball-bearing centre....
Just have to make a new manifold now....
so, any offers for the existing manifold and turbo ? - Will be coming off in the next 2-3 months.. have to build the other one first!

Later
J

nice james,,,, where did you pick that up? is that of the subaru RS Legacy, mazda familiar or isuzu diesel????

Looks like i may have to upgrade my turbo for more power too,,, had a good look at my dyno graph today and the boost was set on 14.7psi (1 bar) it hit 14psi at 120hp then dropped of to 12psi all the way to 152hp.....

Ill be looking for a second hand gt25r ballbearing version of my turbo (t25g silvia turbo) soon,, should hold boost better and come on earlier too.

Im in the process of going a budget (really Budget) turbo setup on my mini.

At the moment it looks like Im going to run a suck through system with a pulsar T2 and 1.75 inch carby.

Ive got the bonnet off and it seems the turbo can fit behind the head where the carby sits and the the carby will be moved to the inlet side of the turbo. My plans are to use a V clamp flange for it like a mate has on his twin turbo falcon.

My standard exhaust already has this the the exhaust manifold will be modified to face towards the sky and the turbo will be V clamped to the outlet of that.

Im picking up a Datsun twin SU setup on the weekend for $50. Woot! If it isnt enough fuel which it should be Im probably going to run another fuel line and a high pressure pump and put an Injector behind the carby and hobbs switch to run at 3 psi or so.

Don't you already have trouble keeping head gaskets up to the 998 kazjim? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Yes he did blow Payen copper gaskets (so did a few others) until they switched to using ACL's CP250MT ones.
These things are built similar to a BK450 (1275) turbo gasket- no problems since.
