Hi All,

I've finally picked up the new mini deluxe and need to replace the mini indicator stalk due to a broken end.

The weird thing is the base where the flasher lens screws into is clear. Sort of like the clear plastic used on the front indicator lenses. Every replacement I've seen has a black base (which the green lens screws into)
Are these available anywhere with the clear base?
I'll try and get a photo up tomorrow of the end. It just looks like age & UV got to it and made it brittle.

I see from the other threads that trying to repair/rebuild them is a nightmare and a replacement is the easiest. The rest of the indicator assembly and switchgear is fine.

Regards,
Mark.

Hi Mark,

I recently repaired one for my van. I managed to locate a repair section which included the black cylinderical peice, a new green end and had a green led instead of the bulb for $40 from the NZ "Trade Me" website.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 032638.htm

It is a perfect fit and looks the goods. If you need any other info shoot me a PM.

Cheers,

Scott

$35NZD would be about $7.45AUD!!

Prefer plug in connections rather than the solidering option but maybe worth a go.

Thanks.
Mark.

Hi Mark,
The sun seems to bleach the colour out of the stalk knobs. You could lightly sand it and hit it with a black rattle can. The indicator stalks are not too bad to work on and I've done many things with them. I've removed and had stalks re chromed, made new black knobs and replaced worn pivot pins. A little fiddly but all do-able.

Regards
Al

They are still available from the UK as I just got one delivered yesterday. The suppliers postage charges suck so I arranged for a friend to post, saved heaps.

here is the link you want, put one of these in my mini a couple weeks ago.

i reckon better to fit the whole thing as the other bits usually get worn out.

http://www.minisport.com.au/prod1499.htm

they also have the genuine ones.

Super-mini, did you have any trouble with the wiring? I bought one from minisport over a year ago and haven't figured out how to get it working properly yet. There seems to be a different wiring set up to the same type of stalk on my car. I seem to have an extra wire with no where to connect it. Any thoughts?
