I got some new leads on an old mini history research project , here we go again  Got more info than I started with for the Mini-Trac and the last sighting was much more recent than the Mini-Trac ....

So what is it?

I fixed the horn and the high beams. Both were just loose connections. The high beam i know what connection it was, but the horn, after about half an hour of trying to find it, I got frustrated, grabbed the wires, shook them in anger and then in frustration decided to try the horn one more time and to my surprise it worked.......BLOODY LUCAS!!!!

Kinda like how my ignition works

I have done nothing on my mini today, will take her for a drive tonight to MOCQ meeting and maybe through car wash on the way home

I had a similar issue with the Moke headlights, every time I wanted the lights they failed, shake the loom between the lights, presto! But after hours stripping all the cruddy insulation, checking the wires..... The earth cable was dodgey at the starter solenoid mounting bolt!

I AM FINALLY GETTING MAYSIE BACK FROM GREIG MALURE... FIXED..!!!

So I am going home to drive her, then wash her, then hug her, then cover her up, then hug her again, then sit back and appreciate the fact she is back....

Reminds me of "The Abominible Snow Rabbit"... "I will hug him and squeeze him and pet him and call him George"

I didn't actually do anything to the Mini today, but I did order some new tyres -- the unobtanium Yoko A008's from Stuckey Tyres in Melbourne, not a bad price too 8)

Decided to rip the A panel off - figure it will be easier in the long run Got the cover strip off with no drama. Then ripped my finger open on a sharp corner of those bleeding little clips.

After fixing the brakes and maneuvering the mini out from in front of the BMW (no front suspension, moved it on jacks, very scary!) the other day i washed her and started to De-rust and paint the heater box, hopefully I'll have a heater this year.
