Unleaded seats are fine, if fitted properly (shrink fit). Look at alloy heads, they all have them.
However, many shops doing A series heads just press them in. One UK mag showed how to `fit' them with some elbow greases and a VBFH!.
Have a bit of an overheating episode, and they can come out. Not a pretty sight when this happens.

The Coefficient of expansion for Aluminium is far greater than that of Cast Iron, Therefore it requires far closer tolerances to get a reliable shrink fit in cast iron than aluminium.
Far closer than most of the two bob machine shops that are around these days are capable of anyway!

Everybody else can keep their unleaded conversions, I,m quite happy with my little bottle of lead additive. :)

Longmam GT6 must be a rare and sort after model for that kinda money. All I see is a mildly worked 1275 head. Correct me if I am wrong?

Its a damn shame they ruined it by making it unleaded, nobody in there right mind converts their head to unleaded, just use Flashlube or whatever brand and everything lives longer and so does your money.

What a dopey comment!!!!!

So do you light having to remember to stuff around putting flashlube in everytime you fill up? What a pain in the arse!

Enjoy stuffing around.

My son ran a fresh recoed 202 head on his 1098 Mini for 6 months to see what would happen, and the ex valves pulled bits of cast iron out of the seats.
I still have the head here.
With Flashlube my 1360's valves and seats stay shiny, last time off I just wire brushed them. They stay far cleaner than they ever did with leaded fuel.

Well that was your fault for recoing the head. If you had left it alone it would have been Ok.

My 26.9cc 12G295 with 1100 Rimflow Valves will only be on Lead Additive, it was suggested to me to convert it to lead-free but I had heard the stories of the inserts breaking and thought I,m not risking a $1400 head. It doesnt look as good as it did when I got it back from Hoppers Heads, it's been patiently waiting on the shelf.

I am getting a motor rebuilt shortly and a bit of head work done and I am not getting unleaded seats. I do not see a problem with using flash lube and I do not have the spare few hundred there to spend to convert.

NEWSFLASH: I don't run flash lube or have unleaded valve seats. GR's own recommendation. There's more to it than meets the eye... 1275's don't have as much of a problem as small bore heads do, has something to do with the way the head is ported in the exhaust valve.

In any event I will let you know how it's doing when I next pull the head off but I suspect it's fine...

That section should be rounded for best flow!
