Anyone know what a Lucas 62941042A distributor data figures are and what it was used in?

According to my Lucas specification catalogue it's a 25D4 that was fitted to 1967 Minis. I have a list of the part numbers for it's components but not the specification, timings, etc. figures. They should be in a workshop manual.

I have dizzy lists in several manuals, none has that particular one listed for any Oz Mini or Moke.
The only ones close in number sequence are Lucas 29D.

What other information is embossed on the dizzy? Is it made in OZ or UK? What year?

The dizzy is an australian made lucas 25D from 9/65 with 13 degree centrifugal advance weights but I've forgotten to get the info off the vacuum advance unit. The docs answer is the reason I have asked for info as I can find no reference to it in the extensive lucas distributor list I have apart from the lists in manuals.

winabbey, I would be interested in the catalogue you have if it is possible to get a copy.

The distributor is in a 1966 Morris Mini Minor that you will be able to read about in the next issue of the Mini Experience hence the need for as much accurate information as possible for Watto.

I wonder if it may be a low compression engine? (just a thought)

Relevant pages from the Lucas Australian Equipment Specifications. I've also included the Moke page, and the Morris 1100 page (mainly for Michael's benefit).

By the way there is sometimes confusion about the orientation of distributors. As Mark Paget said in his Cooper S electrical document: "A point for those using Lucas books, although Mini distributors are considered to rotate anti-clockwise as viewed from the rotor button, Lucas view all distributors from the drive dog, therefore rotating clockwise".
