Sorry about starting another one of these things..

A mate of mine has access to a container to be airfreighted from Germany. I'm getting him to bring me a set of 4 Yokohama A008 tyres which are seemingly NLA here but apparently can be had in Europe.

Was wondering whether there is any point in getting him to put another set in the container. The price will be for a set of 4 or 5 tyres at $130 per tyre (which is what I think they cost me here the last time I got a set) that's unfitted and you will have to organise your own fitting.
The difference will go towards a bottle of something nice for his trouble.

I don't need any money upfront - just a firm expression of interest. By the way if I'm way off with the price please let me know too as I'm not after making a profit here or taking advantage of anyone.

i would be but my min is in Melb, and I can't guarantee I'll be in Aus when the container eventually arrives.

I definately want a set, tiny was getting some but I don't know how thats going. If he finds some I'll have a spare set!

I'll take 5 as long as you don't mind dropping them off at a courier for me!

That sounds great..id take 5.... im so tired of ringing dealers and them saying they will get back to me and then dont ..

What sort of time frame are we talking here???

As long as people organise their own couriers - I can send them anywhere. Time frame is about 2 weeks. The actual tyres are gonna be bought in a few days but by the time that the cargo gets on a plane lands here, clears all checks etc. about 2 weeks.

Ill take 4 if your still offering. Are they the 165/70R10 size?

Not wanting to take the shine off of Mike's generous offer, but for those in Melbourne you can get A008's for $138 I think it was fitted/balanced from Stuckey Tyres in Sydney Rd, Brunswick.

I called them today to find out if they could get them, before joining in on this order and organising a courier from Sydney to Melbourne.. and at the price it's cheaper from Stuckey's. They're bringing them from Sydney themselves, promising fitment in a week.

If you can get them here I'd even be happy to do that myself as I'm having to get my mate source them from somebody he knows with a limited stock. I'm paying about $95 all up for each of them plus I'm gonna get him a bottle for his troubles plus the hassle to him and me... etc. Its not worth it if you can get them in OZ for a bit more.

BUT as far as I know nobody in Australia, or the UK can get them. Stuckey if they don't deal with minis will most likely put an order through, be given an ETA and then it will be on backorder for months (just ask tiny ).

In any case I'm only bringing an extra set, two max. so if Stuckey are legit then they'll have calls from dozens of crazed mini owners.

Stuckey's called me today, the A008's have arrived and are being fitted tomorrow morning
