Yesterday I carefully reassembled the engine and then repainted it nice and shiny,

Then I repaired the paint in the engine bay where the brake fluid had spilled,
and tonight I removed the masking tape and paper and cleaned the remainder of the engine bay in preparation to reassemble

Hope to get the engine back in this week

Had new Yoko A008s fitted, and a full laser/computer alignment done. Very happy, the Yokie's are a vast improvement over the old Falken rocks I had previously. Is it just me or is the ride quality on 8's far, far more compliant than Falkens? I used to jarr over cat's eyes, but now I barely notice them. Grip in the Melbourne grease this evening was brilliant too, even though I haven't yet worn the stickers off the tread

Also fitted an adjustable camber/toe bracket to the RHR, after discovering during the alignment that that side was toe-ing in by nearly 5mm

That is a really intense green! I wouldn't be surprised if it had a long slender tongue and could sit on a lilypad.
Looks great.

I had an old piece of the gearbox with the original colour on it and asked the paint shop to match with 2pack. Not quite the correct colour but when assembled I think it looks good. :)

are these competition bumpstops hard to put on? would you put them on a street car?

I finished building my sons rocker cover racer for minishow and spent too much time on ausmini.

1. Not hard to fit.
2. On a hydro car, yes.. it stops it squatting under acceleration and gives less body roll and sharper turn-in. Usually used in conjunction with shocks on the front.

I socket, can of wd40, and a vice to press them on to the plate they came with took less than 10 minutes, and that included jacking up the car and taking off the rear wheels.

Will have to see how much firmer the ride is.

You can roll them on if you use a bit of lube it up before pressing it on. It won't go anywhere after that.

Fiddled with the toe-in on the RHR after fitting the adjustable bracket yesterday. Found when I drove it today that I had to steer right a little to go in a straight line, but after a tweak it's almost dead straight again 8)

Still haven't worn all the stickers off the new tyres, and I've done probably 70 Km's on them already. Hopefully bodes well for tyre life :)
