Kev and I droped off the the 998 motor with Wand stcik to my place. Its going to get a clean up and a few adjustments
Once Owen Woke up  (no he didn't sleep but rested) we went and pick up a pair of seats for Marcia. The are the perfect stryle. They will also ge a bit of a clean up also.
As per the colour of them I think ill change my idea of the interior now  not basic black not

welp today I drove my mini around the block twice, it was its maiden voyage and my own personal first drive of any mini. It was pretty chuffed, the only issue I had was the front tires scrubbed on the pop rivets I used to attach the chrome strip. The timings out and the everything needs bedding in but I was amazed how well it went. I was not really paying much attention to how fast I was going but it felt pretty quick and it was pulling well.

awesome

THREE STEPS FOREWARD TWO STEPS BACK

Repaird the bottom edge of the door frame today. Cut off the rusty strip -nearly the whole length of the bottom of the door - cut a new piece out of the old door skin. Welded it all up - blew a few small holes but was able to fill them. Cleaned it all up with the flapper wheel and was looking real good. Turned the door over and there was some weld globs on the other side so cleaned them up with the flapper. Couldn't get right into the angle so put a new grinding wheel on and cleaned it up - turned the door back over and found I had cut some holes and opened up the seam in a couple of places

Removed the extractors from the Cooper S because the newly sprayed 1500F paint burnt off when I started the engine.

Resprayed the extractors with a different brand 1500F paint.

The last brand 1500F paint had "sizzled" and just wiped off?

got the temporary engine out, and the rebuilt engine is in the engine bay.
Spent best part of the afternoon trying to get the engine mount bolts in! 3 down, 3 to go :(...
Any tips for getting the holes to line up?
