What's in a name...

What was the name of the team that raced the Ford Anglias in the BTCC against the Minis?

What was the name of the team that raced the unsucessful Jaguars in the ETCC in the mid 70s?

What was the name of the team that raced Ford Escorts and Capris in the late 60s and into the 70s.

Oh and they cut the roof off a Mini.

Typical of modern marketing to 'buy' heritage. Makes me vomit. Clean-suited hip young things in the marketing department think "Need to extend the lifecycle of this product, hmmm, where's Wikipedia? Soulless.

Completely agree. These people would not know what heritage was unless it but them on the bum, as their recent use of the Clubman name shows. It makes me sick. :x

It's a hack job, but i'd say it has potential.

Using a "Clubman" as a base. (It's lowered a bit too)

I don't know.

They took a decent looking car and turned it into a boxy abomination.

I'd say they got it spot on.

:P

Don't be silly.

It will look like, and be a competitor to this.

What heritage does BMW have? They hide their true history behind myths and legends.

Meeni, of course I'm talking about BMW.

We are all entitled to our own opinion, and in my opinion the people at BMW still have no idea what a real Mini is. BMW has no heritage with the Mini beyond taking a name and using it as a marketing tool. I am not interested in embracing that.

Now, why don't you stop whinging because we won't "embrace" the BINI?

And guess what, its always the same old crap from the "Waaaah, they don't like my MINI, sook, sook camp?"

If I don't like my mate's Holden, I can tell him and he can take it. The same if he doesn't like my Moke. We can agree to disagree. So why can't some MINI drivers accept that not everyone likes their car?

That's pretty close to what I was thinking cush , though maybe shorter wheelbase/overhang and with an impressive list of engine and suspension mods . Say limited to 1000 (I know , tooling costs etc would stop it) , 250 hp , super responsive/tunable suspension and huge brakes

If the broadspeed MINI looks like that i would love to get one. Done up for racing would be a weapon. Though the wheelbase could be a bit shorter to save weight.
Me likey.
