There's been a lot of debate about these on Minor forums, too. I think they look effeminate. If it's a girl's car, then maybe that's ok. There was a lot of discussion as to whether they're legal, and most don't believe they're legal.

Rumour is that they may have been designed to reduce light visible to foreign war planes during/after WWII... I can't think of any other practical purpose for them. And I think they're about as good-looking as fluffy dice and bumper stickers.

I think they look good on my EH, which unfortunately needs some doing up before regency will accept it down here in SA, unfortunately couldnt have them on in NSW. But i think you're right with the mini, they do look...girly...no other way to put it. It adds cuteness factor +5. Not looking to have a 'cute' twini lol.

They were never a common accessory in the 60s. That is a complete myth.
They were a fairly rare accessory in the 60s, they were only seen in magazines and were never seen on road cars. I suppose this is due to them being stupid and ugly.
