what purpose does that serve? Wouldnt the engine overheat without the air flow?

i am confused?

im guessing to keep water out of the engine bay and the distributor mainly...

only a guess though :wink:

NO,NO,NO It,s to keep the engine temperature up and stop the carby from freezing, very common in England , not so common in Australia, this is the "Snail" with his original BLMC Clubman Grill Muff, on the weekend I drove through Kyneton in the early morning and it was -2 deg , without the grill muff I would,nt have been able to make the trip to Echuca and back.

I have completely covered the grill on my Morris 1100 with black plastic, it looks surprisingly good.
But the carby cutting out on minus 5° mornings still continues. The difference is that it recovers quicker.
