So im sitting in Maccas enjoying an applie pie and some free wireless.

And a cop comes up to me and says do you own the mini outside. Thoughts go through my head, they want to question the rego, it had just run out and been paid for by eftpos, so i had a lapsed sticker.

But no,

Coppa says to me, weve run into your car. DAMN i think, how the fark could you do that. SO i go outside. The Cop car that reversed into me is a bloody big Drug and Alchohol testing unit.

Massive dint in the rear right quarter, including the seam, but he managed to miss the tail light and rear window.

I turn to him and say, you werent on drugs or alchohol at all were you as a joke. Turns out they were pretty cool about it all, the state is going to pick up the cost of the damages.

So the seargant comes out and breath tests both of us, even though the car was stationary and i wasnt actually driving i still had to do a breath test.

He then asks how much it will cost and the coppa goes, mini, probably about 2500 bux.

What a pain, was a perfect, perfect, rust free, dint free shell all original, and a coppa puts the first damage in the vehicle.

They bought me a coffee, the guy driving felt pretty bad.

EDIT: So can anyone point me in the right direction for an A Grade panel beater in the Adelaide Area for a quote.

apparently, its now law that both parties that were involved in an accident are subject to a breath test and if injury then a drug test as well. I didnt understand why i had to have one, becuase i was stationary, BUT i did drive my vehicle to the maccas. Although i was inside at the time.

I think.... even if you are only in possession of car keys you can be tested and fined for over the limit. Since having the keys you have the intention to drive. Never heard of it happening but I think it's the law.
