those Celica boxes must be pretty tough (mate) often put behind small V8s no problem at all... :!: :roll: :lol:

Yes they're very strong but there are several different types, varying in size, strength and shifter position, ratios etc.

The type I'll be running in my Datsun is an alloy case T50 box.
The ones usually used behind bix sixes and V8s are the W55 or W58 steel case. These are much larger than the alloy case box and are easier to find.

im 188 with a size 13 hoof.. I have had 3 sprites 1 which had a celica 5spd and also had a morrie with a celica 5spd, very easy conversation and wasnt to expencive.. I also had a logbooked bugeye with a cortina GT running gear ;)

Aren't the W code boxes usually known as Supra boxes..? :? I know it used to be common for small 8's to have Celica 5 speeds, and big 8's had Supra 5 speeds...

Supra 5 speed 'boxes on Rover V8s seems to be a pretty common mod.
