That woud have yes. 4 speed synchro (same box as a Mini K, same case as a Mk2 Cooper S) with pudding stirer diff housing (different to an 850).

I would take a pic of the box, but I sold the one I had that isn't in a car.

Ok, while we're on the subject whioch one's came out with rear seats, or was it an option?

Travellers/Estates/Countrymans were never sold new here.

It was fitted by dealers and aftermarket kits available back in the day, but very rare.

I had a Clubby van in 1987 and it had remote change as original

As for the magic wand, there was an early clubby van for sale on ebay recently (71-72?) and it had the magic wand and the centre speedo.

The modern motor road test in the "mini minor downunder" book that covered the launch of the clubman also mentioned that "only the economy model 1100" retains the centre speedo - would the magic wand be something that they phased out once they stopped producing the 1100 motors in oz? (ie around 1973-74?)

Pre 1987 :roll: .. No idea - original engine (matching numbers ) and I had to replace the rubber and steel sandwich plate thing between the housing and the diff so had to pull the remote housing out so it all looked original - press gear stick hole - no hole at firewall etc

The magic wand was used with the remote type gearbox on vans. When they switched to rod change boxes it moved to the more usual position.

The same change was used in Mokes around the same time.

Pretty sure the rubber sandwich between the remote and diff housing was only used on Morris 1100.

Hiya,

My 72 van has the central speedo and magic wand type hole (I don't have the motor or gearbox).

As an aside, speedo surround should also be black, I believe.
