I was actually looking at one the other day on special, it was a Uniden for $300, i guess it was a superceded model and was last in stock deal.

And i think i might actually buy it, it was a desktop/in car with scanner and digital interface.

Just be careful of any hidden costs for installation, antenna, coax, etc.. But could be a good investment that you could always sell off after you've finished trecking around

ill do the installation, and i have been looking at long antenna and cabling to ensure i get maximum reception, even if i end up buying a lower frequency unit. And i think ill keep it, after having so much fun driving around Melbourne with all the other Minis.

I didn't see it on the list but im sure its a given. Jerry cans with spare fuel and the spout attachment.
I would change torch to head torch personally. They make it so much easier as you have two hands free to do what you need. Make you look like a bit of a prat but its worth it.

Just looked at your list, and i thought maybe an air filter might be a good idea, its pretty dusty out there yea?

Brake fluid wasnt on the list too, but i presume you've got some
