You can get the kits from most auto places and it was quite cheap when I bought mine.
I have the `Recoil' kit here, I can do it for you cheap if you bring me the head.
Before you go that far pull the plug out and shine a torch in the hole, see if threads are
really missing.

It's damned hard to strip the plug threads in an A series cast iron head... but too easy in modern alloy ones.
