Can someone tell me which Optima battery is best:

1. for a daily driver with electric windows, air conditoning, stereo;
2. for an frequently used car with relatively few electrical components.

As I understand it the Red Top SLI batteries are meant more for daily use with not over the top extra electrical draining accessories, whilst the Yellow Top Deep Cycle batteries are more for cars with high ongoing electrical loads and those that sit around in the garage unused for extensive periods.

Is this correct? Or can I use a Red Top battery in an infrequently used car and expect it to start everytime?

Yellow tops are fantastic, but overkill really. Just get a Red.

I bought my Yellow top about five years ago. Sat on the shelf for 3 years before i used it, just charged it up and it cranks the mini over great!
Even left the lights on for 3 hours and it still started.

Well... you've gotta remember that they're Lucas lights.

The only provider of head light lamps with an intermittent setting.
