I wonder what the point of that exercise was....

he might have been trying to get the front wheels up the 2 ramps, and the car between them, and make the car do a dirt-bike style flip - whatever he was trying to do, it couldn't have ended much differently to what actually happened

The text in the film. "197# a stunt driver sees how easy it is to flip a Mini." "Not too hard apparently."

I don't get it. They drove it up a ramp.

:?:

that's what I mean, I reckon they were trying to do a full front-back flip and land it back on it's wheels, but only one wheel went up the ramp

not exactly the best construction on the ramp, no roll cage, poor execution.

it was only ever going to end the way it did

It could have only ended better if the car caught fire and all those responsible for killing a harmless mini to prove an obvious fact all burnt to a cinder.
Drive old car up ramp.. hurt car.. hurt self.. DUH

wow i didn't realise that if u drove any car up a ramp with only its right hand side wheels on it it'd flip/ roll.

at least he could have tried without the ramp . that'd be better watch seeing as the mini had no chance to make it out of that one.

Thats just stupid......... Its like something you would expect to see on A Current Affair or that other mindless "we are going to twist the truth so you think that this is the way it is but really we are just proving the point that we can guide your uneducated thinking..."

but i agree... it stood up pretty well to it all...

The Mini has a G registration, making it a 1968 car, so (in 1978) it was a ten year old banger, around this time in the 70's Mini production had just peaked, they were as common as ... well you know.

Looked like some low key stunt at some event or another, check out the crowd behind the 'safety' fence!
