Without much difficulty, I managed to remove a twin fuel tank (probably off a Cooper S) from my 66 Deluxe.
Now the problem is to cover the hole where the tank spout exited. I am not a MIG welder and am on a very tight budget.
Could I use fibre glass matting etc to cover this up? How solid will this be?

It is a de luxe, want it to look like a deluxe.

put it back in and wait till you can afford to have it fixed professionally, because the whole rear corner of the car will need to be repainted

I'd weld it up for you for a couple of slabs and the RH tank

Speaking of filling holes.. Ive found a ton of holes *drilled @2mil* for self tappers and rivets. I can bronze these up? or is it just better to bog them?
Im actually starting to find more than pulled the chrome work off today.. not a single bloody piece didnt have rust on it.

just cut a neck off a damaged tank put a cap on it and use it to fill the hole
