Don't you just love them. Like a stick in a bucket.
I just fixed this little problem on this gear shift. It had a new ball fitted and the alumin block was new about 12 months ago. It was back to the same sloppy crap.
So time to re-engineer.
1 make a new alloy block[not crap die cast] and lower the pivot point 1/2"
2 no more crap plastic ball. fitted a hardened steel plain spherical bearing.
3 new acetal front bush and lip seal
4 p*ss off the sh*t roll pins

end result the gear lever travel is reduced by 1/3[quick shift incorporated]
and no more rattle and slop.
no more ******** roll pins, fitted with 6mm socket head H/T bolts.
Just have to fit the new universal joint to the gear box/change rod and bob's your uncle. super smooth presice gear change :D

Next job is to throw away the U beaut gear box after market seal set-up and fit one that does seal.[quad rings for sealing not one way lip seals]
