I used to have my leyland van registered as an LS.... Made the insurance cheap because the sports steering wheel, disks brakes, 1275, etc were all standard on a LS

Seems to me like what you got there is another genuine, fake, sports850-1275ls-cooper S-clubmangt-4WDmoke, probably filled with genuine fake stole parts out of other customers cars... Hypothetically of course... Lets not up set any rip off merchants here.. thats just not cricket.

oooooohhhhhhh... Guys, hang on a sec. Now I love nothing more that putting sh!t on hyppthetical business's that don't exist and don't rip people off... But I owe them an appogly this time round. When I read the add at 12:09am eastern standard time australia on the 1/10/2009, the only LS van I could see listed on their site was clearly labelled as a "CUSTOM BUILT CAR"... So they aren't really trying to pull the wool over anyones eyes on this one as far as selling a non genuine Item as a stock one..

Sorry Graham

not sure about you guys but being custom built doesnt change the make or model of a car, just means its been modified. Now if i modify my actual LS1275, does that mean i can advertise it as a 1978 cooper S - Custom built car?? of course not because clearly it is not a cooper S its a LS, now that van is clearly not an LS, it might be LS inspired or how ever you wish to spin the B*llsh*t but it isnt an LS, so its wrong to advertise saying that it is...

I thought that was what thet were getting at by saying custom built? that it was LS inspired... Not actually a LS... If I'm wrong can I continue being facicious? (oh man I hope I spelt that right!)

It doesn't state clearly that it is LS inspired, It's advertised as a 1978 Mini LS panelvan, wile on another ad on their site they cearly state cooper s replica on another car. So my understanding is that they are using that wording to deliberately mislead those who aren't as knowledgeable on minis as we are.

Tell him he's dreamin'!!

It's not even that nice a van... that rear door is horrendous, not to mention the incredibly out-of-proportion wheels/arches.

Bleurgh. I wouldn't pay $6k for it, let alone $16k.
