Hi Yall, What sort of SU carb do 1275LS's have bolted on to em, i need to order a rebuild kit but theres too many different types and it makes my head hurt. What comes in the kit?, should i order n e thing else that should be replaced that doesnt come with the kit. The float needle is ratto( theyd have to come in the kit) But i have a fair bit of up n down play in the butterfly as well, how the fark do you fix that, can you buy bushes? or am i better off throwing it over my left shoulder and getting a reco one.Im ready to give up on this carb adventure/ misadventure and park Vera in a corner for a few months  (bitch) but at the moment she is my daily driver so im stuck. BTW she uses more fuel than running 2 v8's simultainously.

Or does any one feel like taking on a carb/ tuning job ( whatever the rate is ill pay) ive had enough

Hello,

Factory it would have been a HS4 (1 1/2"). It would have been fitted with an ABB neddle but some might argue that with the swap to unleaded that the ABB is no good anymore. (i've used it no worries). Oh and of course being a later one it has a bias needle

Take the body to a carb shop with a new butterfly and shaft (or ask them to supply) and get them to rebush it, it'll be crap until you do.

The rest you can do yourself -- new jet, needle, float if necessary, needle valve and seat, gaskets. Easy peasy :)

I don't know if its related, its just a total stab. But the only time I've had this problem is when the choke wore loose and kept flapping open and closed as it pleased... Might be worth a looky... Just a thought... And hang in there, its late afternoon, you probably just need a coffee
