I was wondering what peoples thoughts on the different flywheel packages MED make are. In regards to road/competition use and wether a certain package is too excessive for a road driven engine. Also price wise.

So basically i want some of those pro's out there to check out http://www.med-engineering.co.uk/catego ... cat_id=100 and tell me what their opinions are for a road/light competition engine, in particular 1275 sc12. And compare these to lightweight cast iron versions.

I'm looking more at the ultralight flywheel and steel backplate, not the fancy aluminium one :D

cheers

Hi,

I bought one of these. Yet to drive the engine, but the workmanship looks very good, high quality. From memory on the balancer there was nothing to do to the clutch plate or flywheel so that's always a good sign.

Don't skimp on these parts, there's one brand out there (UK) that is really cheap but the clutch straps don't line up and it's just no good. MED, Swiftune etc. are reputable mini part vendors IMO.

i've bought a MED road flywheel ( 5kgs ) and road backplate ( ~2kgs ), not yet in the engine but quality seems very good.

Regards
Luis

do you realise that Med don't acctually manufacture any of these machined parts them selves, its all apparently subbed out to cheap shops, allededgedly,
