Heyas,

Unfortunately (although the gear head in me says fortunately) she hasn’t sold.

http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=49979&highlight=

To compound the issue, my uncle has sold his business at Murarrie and I am losing the warehouse where she is stored and will need to relocate her in the very near future. I can’t think of anyone else who has the space to store the shell and the 4 pallets of parts to go with it. :(

I don’t want to be forced into a quick sale and get pocket change for her – she owes me too much and I really don’t want to sell her – the bloody wife (bless her) has other ideas.

After much thinking and talking to friends, I do have places I can store her if she was an assembled car.

SO! Who is up for a weekend or two of big kids Mechano? I will put on BBQ or pizza and beers.

The bits I don’t have are brake lines (I have the originals to template from), full exhaust system, fuel lines, handbrake and cable, brackets for the seats, steering rack (reco the old one or get a new/good one) miscellaneous nuts and bolts (some snapped or needed to be cut as they were seized), etc – some of this is not needed right now, as are other cosmetics like door cards, carpets, etc.

I was thinking to just put a set of seals in the 850 for now and get it running – the guy I bought it off drove the car from Mad Matt’s to his own place and parked it under his house which is where she sat till I bought her. I don’t have to money to do the 1100S which is (hopefully) still sitting in pieces at Mad Matt’s place – Matt, let me know if you want me to get it out of there. :D

Now, if I can get enough man (and girl if interested) power together, I need to work out where the build can take place. We could probably do some at the warehouse to get it to a rolling chassis to make it easier to transport. From there I am not sure... My sister’s boyfriend is a self-employed mechanic and has a full workshop with a hoist at Morayfield that we could probably use on weekends. I have a fair amount of tools – both air and hand, but you can never have too many and if we can use the workshop, we are set.

I am open to questions, queries, other theories, advice and comments and I thank you for taking the time to read this....

Oh...and I and the car are located in Brisbane...

I have a mini sized trailer that can be rented for a small fee.
